• Message from Acting Superintendent Rebecca Castaneda regarding Donna ISD's Virtual Learning Academy

We are incredibly proud of our students, teachers, administrators, and staff and how smoothly they have transitioned back to 100 % in-person instruction. They are wearing their masks, practicing social distancing when possible, washing their hands frequently, and self-screening for symptoms. I commend everyone for doing their part to keep each other safe while the district continues to navigate through the challenges of this pandemic.

While the majority of students learn best through face-to-face instruction with their teacher, it came to light over the past year and a half that some students excelled academically through remote instruction. With that in mind, legislation was passed that will pay for virtual learning programs in Texas public schools through the end of the 2023 school year. While this is good news, this piece of legislation comes with certain criteria. See below to see if your child qualifies to receive remote instruction.
