Advanced Academic Programs
B.G. Guzman Elementary offers Pre-K-5th Grade Advanced Academic Programs that focus on a more rigorous curriculum aligned with state and federal education standards. In addition, our school provides instruction for Gifted and Talent, Dyslexia, and Migrant students through pullout enrichment programs that allow for more concise and direct teaching.
Dual Language Program
B.G. Guzman Elementary offers the Dual Language Model-Simultaneous Biliteracy Program in grades Pre-Kinder – 2nd. The program provides a solid curriculum for all subjects in English and Spanish, and is structured so that both languages are used regularly as part of daily instruction.
Early College and Career Magnet Program (R-GEN)
B.G. Guzman Elementary provides a unique and innovative academic component called the Early College and Magnet Program. The goal of the program is to teach students about their own personal career aspirations as early as possible, and put them on a career path even before entering middle or high school. Through R-Generation Clubs, students learn about careers available in fields involving science, art, literature, and technology.
Academic Competition of Elementary Schools (A.C.E.S)
B.G. Guzman Elementary offers students the opportunity to enhance their learning through academic competition. The Academic Competition of Elementary Schools (A.C.E.S.) is an after school academic program designed to teach students specific skills in mathematics, science, poetry, keyboarding, music, and much more. Students then compete with their peers from other district campuses to demonstrate mastery. Through this program, students are challenged to think critically and creatively.
ACE Program
B.G. Guzman Elementary offers students the opportunity to participate in the 21st Century ACE Program. Texas ACE is designed to improve student performance on state assessments, core course grades, on-time grade level advancement, school day attendance, discipline referrals, high school graduation rates, and college and career readiness.
