• 7th Grade Principal and 6th Grade (M-Z) Principal

    Assists the Principal in achieving high academic success in the English and Electives Departments and manages all curriculum and instruction on campus.

    Provides leadership in all aspects of curriculum and instruction including:

    • Before School/During School Intervention
    • Campus Behavior Coordinator
    • coordinating school schedules (afternoon “connections” and extended day tutorials etc.)
    • Discipline Management Plan
    • Instructional Coach 
    • LAP Schedule
    • Student/Faculty Handbook

     

    Provides accountability in 7th/6th 504, hearings, ARDS, LPAC, and STAAR, and RTI-ELAR.

    Chairs the School Attendance Committee and Special Task forces

  • Hello Students and Parents, 

    My name is Karla Tamez. I am the Assistant Principal of Instruction here at D. M. Sauceda Middle School. I have been working at this amazing school for about 3 ½ years and have worked at Donna ISD for 14 years. I am very excited about our school transitioning to a STEAM Academy and look forward to learning much more alongside with you.  

    I attended the University of Texas Pan American where I earned a Bachelors in Spanish and attended the University of Texas at Brownsville shortly after where I earned a Master’s degree in Bilingual Education with an emphasis in Dual Language and English as a Second Language. I enjoyed being a student and also enjoy being an educator.  

    I will be working with all students but specifically with the 7th grade group this 2022-2023 school year. I cannot wait to have things return to normal and see all of you walk through our doors every day. In the meantime, stay safe and healthy.
